About Baan Chim Cha

When you first step into Baan Chim Cha, you instantly feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem tucked away in the creative heart of Bangkok. Nestled at 954 Duang Tawan Alley in Talat Noi, Samphanthawong, this art‑inspired cafe isn’t just a place to grab a coffee - it’s a space to slow down, soak up atmosphere, and let your mind wander. The vibe here leans toward relaxed and artistic, with eclectic décor that blends local charm with creative flair. Whether you’re into sketching, journaling, or simply people‑watching, the ambience makes it easy to settle in and stay a while.

What makes Baan Chim Cha stand out is the way it seamlessly mixes café culture with an inviting social space. You can choose to enjoy your drink outdoors, soaking up the subtle buzz of Talat Noi’s streets, or take a seat inside where the art lining the walls feels like it’s having its own conversation with you. I always find that these little details - from the quirky artwork to the sun‑dappled outdoor patio - create a setting that’s first about feeling good and then about enjoying what’s in your cup.

Coffee lovers will appreciate the care that goes into every brew here. Whether you’re craving a bold espresso to kickstart your day or a smooth latte to accompany a lazy afternoon, the offerings at Baan Chim Cha hit that sweet spot between bold flavour and comforting warmth. You can also swing by for takeout if you’re on the move, but trust me - grabbing a seat and watching life unfold around you always feels worth it.

The staff at Baan Chim Cha are friendly without being intrusive, making the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless. From onsite services that cater to regulars and newcomers alike, to the casual exchange of smiles with people around you, this place thrives on genuine energy. If you ever find yourself wandering through Talat Noi and in need of a spot that’s equal parts coffee haven and artistic hideaway, Baan Chim Cha quietly invites you to slow down and stay a bit.

Unexpected Impressive !!! bump into this stylish little cafe just to avoid the sun heat but everthing in here just greater than it looks !!! The coffee was good - strong and tasty, cheese cake was yummy - Iced tea was delight ! The owner was so lovely and kind. Highly recommended !!! Btw the lady owner is running this cafe alone so if you walk in and find no one, she might just take care of another customers upstair, just hold on. It's worth the wait

Such a Beauty in the middle of Talat Noi! It’s a great place for a tasty Thai Milk Tea and some rest on the upper level! Don’t miss walking up the stairs and have a rest in the lovely seating area. I also really like the fruit stand next to Baan Chim Cha where you can pick up cold, fresh fruit for the next sightseeing adventure.

A chill coffee shop, perfect for relaxing in the middle of your exploration in the area. The vibes it gives is like in Vietnam. There are 2 floors, the ground floor is air-conditioned, the second floor is open-air.

Hot Day, Cool Vibes, Perfect Drinks! Highly Recommended I went to this café on a really hot day. At first, I wanted to sit in the air-conditioned area downstairs, but it was full, so I went upstairs instead. Even though there was no AC, there were fans and it felt comfortable, not hot at all. The atmosphere was so nice. There were many cute photo spots and I enjoyed taking pictures so much. The drinks were really good. I ordered an iced fruit tea and it was very refreshing. The milk tea was delicious too, with a soft and smooth aroma. The cake tasted great as well. The staff were lovely and very friendly. I’m very impressed and would definitely recommend this café. You should come and try it!

Gorgeous spot to take a break from the heat and grab a cold drink (or coffee)! Service was friendly. Please note that if you want to go upstairs, you have to remove your shoes, but there is a shoe rack provided. The stairs are a bit steep.

Stopped in here to escape the afternoon heat of Bangkok! Very refreshing yuzu and lemon juice - it was exactly what we needed!! There is A/C downstairs, seating for about 6 people, and then an upstairs space with more seating but it’s not A/C as there’s a gorgeous bay window they keep open. Makes for beautiful photos, but can be very warm!

It is fun to award all 5 stars to a new coffee shop in Old Town! Certainly the coffee shop space is crowded, but Baan Chim Cha is exceptional. The setting is extremely tranquil, the coffee (in my opinion) is fantastic, and the lemon cheese pie reminded me of my grandmothers own! Perhaps a bit hard to find, but well worth the search.

Cute place, combining the Chinese and Thai culture in one place. We loved the open space concept especially that it was a rainy day, so just sitting there drinking coffee while looking outside through the open space was very comforting and inspirational. The terminus and coffee were so good too
